TEACHER + ARTIST = TEACHING ARTIST
For over 25 years, Northern California native ADAM FLOWERS has performed in the opera houses, concert halls, soundstages, recording studios, and a variety of venues large and small across North America and Asia. From 2001-2006, ADAM was a Principal Artist-In-Residence at OPERA SAN JOSÉ under the mentorship of the legendary mezzo-soprano, director, and impresaria IRENE DALIS where he learned and performed over 36 tenor roles. From 2009-2021 he was a member of the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA CHORUS. He is an extra member of the SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY CHORUS and has recorded multiple motion picture, television, and video game soundtracks as a member of the SKYWALKER SOUND Chorus. From 2004-2011 he was the soloist for Willow Glen Church of Christ, Scientist and was the tenor section leader and cantor at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco from 2013 until 2020. He studies with voice teacher DEBORAH BENEDICT.
ADAM is a certified MUSIC TOGETHER™ teacher for SAN FRANCISCO MUSIC TOGETHER, where he has taught infants and toddlers since 2017. He is a teaching artist for both CANTARE CON VIVO‘S In-School musical education for the Oakland Unified School District and for the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA GUILD Education Department’s BOOK TO BRAVO program in the public and private schools of San Francisco. ADAM is also a teacher and former Program Coordinator for San Francisco’s PACIFC SINGERS & ACTORS WORKSHOP. He is grateful for the wonderful life he has stumbled into and enjoys the adventures he shares with his wife NICOLE, their cats BENJI & NORI, and his mother KATHY just 15 minutes away in Daly City.
